5 steps to styling your hair ties:

If only everybody understood how simple it is to style a hair tie. They are life changing. Seriously!! I am going to give you a simple, five step… step by step guide on styling, tying, and wearing a tied on top tie!

Step 1: Style your hair however you prefer. I prefer my hair to have volume, so curled is usually my go to! Make sure to make your hair look fluffy and voluminous before adding in a tie. Dry shampoo, hairspray, and volume sprays are my best friends!

Step 2: Section off your hair. I like to leave about an inch of hair in my front section left out. Once you have sectioned your hair off to your liking, throw the rest of your hair into a pony tail. It doesn’t matter how this looks; you will be taking it out in just a minute.

Step 3: Grab a tie that matches your look, and put the middle of the tie under your pony tail. Once it is flat to your head under your pony, bring your two ends up to the top of your head.

Step 4: My most important, and favorite step of styling a tie! Slide your ends to be slightly off centered to your head and tie a regular old knot. Don’t double knot it yet! Once knotted once, you then are going to start your second knot. Instead of a regular knot, turn it into a square knot! This means that you start it as normal, but one the end is put through the hole, you switch it to tie in the opposite direction.

Step 5: Take your hair out of the pony tail, add some product to fluff your hair, and you are done!
